Dismantling and evaluating the damage:

bullet

Had I known that I was going to dismantle the entire trailer, I would have left the roof/ceiling repair for the last item instead of first.

Bathroom Ceiling:

You can see the sagging from the water leaks

Main Ceiling:

The only thing holding the wood panel up there is the vinyl coating.

Ceiling delamination:

This is the worst leak area. Much delamination is visible here.

Ceiling - A/C area:

After removal of the A/C, the ceiling nearly caved in. The panels are so wet, there is nothing holding them together.

Roof 1:

After removal of vents, A/C etc. many long hours were spent removing several layers of roof sealants

Roof 2:

Ready for removal of screws to effect the roof skin removal

Roof 3:

This is my "sardine can" imitation. No dead fish here, but lots of rotten wood.

Roof 4:

After removal of the skimpy insulation, the ceiling rot is very apparent

Roof 5:

Over the bed area, water poured in. A sparrow would fall through here. I can poke my finger right through

Roof 6:

After a painstaking process of removing rusty screws, the roof is lifted up onto blocks

First panel out:

After lifting the roof up. taking out the first panel was easy. This one was the least damaged and came out in large chunks.

Front of roof:

Skeleton framework. Rafters are intact, but perimeter 1X2 has to be replaced

Rear of roof:

Rafters and adjoining framework have to be replaced here

Bathroom storage area:

After cabinet removal, the leak was very evident

Storage area 2:

Removal of panelling reveals rotten wall framework

Bathroom floor:

The leak down the wall inside the storage area has taken its toll on the floor.

Bathroom floor 2:

Same area as viewed through outside storage door

Bathroom floor 3:

After removal of the back off the trailer and some plywood floor, the extensive structural floor damage is visible.

Back of trailer:

Rot is extensive here. The entire back has to be rebuilt along with 4 feet of the side.

Hornets in wall 1:

Hornets got in to nest via a hole from a removed TV antenna. Look at top left. They never covered the hole.

Hornets in wall 2:

Gross mess from hundreds of dead hornets in the wall. This was the only bugs in the whole trailer.

Kitchen leak:

Rusty water stains are visible on the kitchen wall panelling. Water came in through the roof, into the overhead cabinets and through the range hood.

Rotten wall:

After removing a section of siding, the wall area around the furnace vent is very rotten.

Water under lino:

After pulling up some of the lino, water staining is visible. Not sure how the water got there.
